5 Rising Stars Set to Dominate 2024

The turn of a new year means only one thing: the promise of fresh new talent rising through the ranks. 2024 is set to be no different, with countless artists making a name for themselves ahead of what promises to be the biggest and best year yet. From independent and fearless females to the next generation of indie legends, the next wave of musical brilliance is here. The question is: are you ready to discover your new favourite artists?

Molly Segar

Molly Segar, a twenty-year-old independent artist residing in Nashville, specialises in crafting edgy, dreamy, and atmospheric hits. Her lyrical approach is straightforward, while her melodies have a transporting quality. Drawing significant inspiration from Jack Antonoff’s production style, Molly explores the realms of upbeat synth and electric guitar-driven indie-pop/rock.

Artists and bands like Bleachers, The 1975, Lizzy McAlpine, the Japanese House, and Holly Humberstone serve as apt comparisons, resulting in what can only be described as 80s-infused dream-pop.

Dylan

At just twenty-three years old, Dylan appears poised for pop stardom, yet her self-deprecating characterisation as “a wannabe rock star in a pop star’s body” reflects the influence of more alternative sounds in her music.

Raised on a musical diet of classic rock, Dylan attributes her career path to her father, who introduced her to the likes of AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and Rainbow. Her unabashed honesty and unwavering determination have cultivated an incredibly loyal and passionate fan base. Notably, she embarked on an extensive UK & US stadium tour alongside Ed Sheeran, Bastille, Tate McRae and Gayle, further solidifying her presence in the music scene.

The rising star is also set to embark on a worldwide headline tour of the US, Canada, Europe and Australia in 2024. Catch Dylan on her highly anticipated The Rebel Child Tour.

The Manatees

Hailing from the South Coast of England but now based in London, The Manatees have had a busy couple of years. The trio effortlessly combine hip-hop samples and funk-inspired bass lines with anthemic, gritty and infectiously energetic vocals to carve out their soundscape within modern rock. Looking for somewhere to start? Try digging your teeth into stand-out tracks including The Sound, Know You, and Milan.

Live performances over the last couple of years have seen them travel the length and breadth of the UK, even recently supporting indie legends, Sundara Karma, on their winter UK tour. And this is just the start – the band will also be making their trans-Atlantic debut in March at Texas’ infamous SXSW Festival.

Hana Eid

Hana Eid, originally from Virginia and now a Nashville native, developed a passion and curiosity for songwriting during her childhood. Growing up with a heavy musical heritage, her creativity was celebrated and encouraged from a young age, nurturing her to become one of 2024’s rising stars. In a landscape where young artists often succumb to conformity, singer/songwriter Hana Eid stands out by fearlessly embracing life’s disappointments and setbacks with unapologetic frankness that commands attention.

Her 2022 single, Dancing to The Smiths, has garnered an impressive 1.2m streams on Spotify, but if this introduction to the artist was anything to go by, we should have known that we had our eyes set on the early beginnings of a star.

Bellah Mae

While many aspiring musicians require numerous releases to shape their destiny, British singer and songwriter Bellah Mae took a different route. With just one infectious song and a brief TikTok video, her fate was sealed.

In October of 2022, Bellah debuted her single Boyfriend Of The Year, instantly experiencing virality as it amassed millions of views and streams. Subsequently, following the success of this anthemic break-up track, she secured a major label deal with EMI Records, propelling her career to unprecedented heights. Follow-up singles, On Purpose (For My Future Daughter) and Date Your Dad, project a vibe not dissimilar from fellow female songstresses Cate Canning and Maisie Peters. Could 2024 be the year that Bellah Mae breaks the big league? We think so.
