AEG Presents UK has lifted the curtain on its new flagship venue at Olympia London, presenting British Airways ARC as the latest addition to the capital’s live entertainment landscape.

The purpose-built space will hold 3,800 people and is expected to open in 2026, forming a central element of the multi-year transformation of the historic exhibition grounds.

British Airways ARC will be set above the west exhibition hall in a structure designed specifically for modern concerts and events. AEG says it will offer advanced production capabilities, improved artist facilities and a setting intended to compete with the strongest mid-sized venues in Europe.

The project arrives as Olympia continues its £1.3 billion redevelopment, which is remaking the Victorian site into a mixed cultural district. Alongside the new venue, plans include a theatre with more than fifteen hundred seats, two hotels, a broad range of food and drink options and hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space. It marks one of the most ambitious cultural investment schemes in London this decade.

Olympia’s live music credentials stretch back nearly one hundred and forty years. The halls have hosted performances from Jimi Hendrix, The Cure, Rod Stewart, Primal Scream and The Chemical Brothers. AEG says British Airways ARC is intended to re establish Olympia as a regular stop for major touring artists. The company also suggests that the new room will help ease pressure on London’s busy live circuit by providing a modern space sized between traditional theatres and arena venues.

Andrew Spencer, chief operating officer of AEG Presents Europe, said the new build gives the team an opportunity to honour the site’s legacy while delivering a twenty-first-century experience for audiences and performers. “This is a pivotal moment as we open the diary for bookings and reveal the name of British Airways ARC. We’re delighted to be working with BA, and as we take the next step towards opening all the teams are very excited. Olympia is a place that has an incredible musical history, which we want to honour whilst creating a venue that is thoroughly modern with world-class facilities for artists and fans alike.”

British Airways has taken the naming rights, positioning the partnership as part of its investment in London’s cultural scene. Calum Laming, the airline’s Chief Customer Officer, added, “We’re incredibly proud to champion British Originality in everything we do, so we’re thrilled to be building on our further support for the arts and culture scene on our doorstep here in our hometown, London.”

The new venue will sit above the Exhibition Hall of Olympia London.

“Together with AEG Presents UK, not only are we creating unique experiences for audiences, we’re also helping shine a spotlight on the next generation of talent. As the flag carrier for the UK, it’s important to us that we represent modern Britain at home and all around the world, and we’re so excited to be a part of Olympia to showcase the very best homegrown and international entertainment.”

Once complete, British Airways ARC will join AEG’s roster that includes indigo at The O2, the Eventim Apollo and Watford Colosseum. The company says the new site has been designed from the ground up to meet the needs of touring productions, with acoustics, load-in access and crowd flow factored into the build from the earliest stages.

As construction progresses, fans can register for updates and future show announcements through britishairwaysarc.co.uk and the venue’s social platforms.
