Charli XCX Joins A-List Cast in Upcoming Film, The Gallerist

After a stellar year in the music industry, it seems the BRAT singer is trying her hand at acting too.

Charli XCX has been announced amongst the star-studded cast of the upcoming film, The Gallerist, to be directed by Cathy Yan, whose previous works include Birds of Prey (2020) and Dead Pigs (2018). While her exact role in the film is yet to be revealed, the synopsis suggests it will follow the story of a gallerist who makes a plan to sell a dead body at Art Basel Miami.

Also confirmed to be starring alongside her are the likes of Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sterling K. Brown and Daniel Brühl, as well as the previously announced Jenna Ortega and Natalie Portman.

This comes after last month’s news that she would have a role in the action-adventure comedy film, Sacrifice, directed and written by Romain Gavras. Other cast members include Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Evans, Salma Hayek, Vincent Cassel and Ambika Mod.

With pre-production for The Gallerist in progress and shooting marked to begin at the end of this year, 2025 will be a busy year for Charli XCX as she is also set off on her US arena tour in the Spring. The eight-date tour begins on April 22nd, kicking off at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas and finishing in Brooklyn, New York at Barclays Center on May 4th.
