Oasis has just announced a world tour for next year, reuniting for the first time since 2009. This will be the first time the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, will perform together again in well over a decade.

After 15 long years, filled with turmoil and arguing, Twitter subtweets amongst a plethora of other public spats, it seems Oasis brothers- Liam and Noel Gallagher have put things to bed. Rumours of a potential reunion began to repopularise on social media earlier this year ahead of the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ debut album, Definitely Maybe. Fans began to speculate the two would come together to celebrate the anniversary and success of their first album, and now, those suspicions have been confirmed.

On the 25 August, 2024 Liam Gallagher was slotted in to close out the infamous Reading Festival, name-dropped Noel prior to singing the fan-favourite track, Half the World Away, in which Liam yelled out “I wanna dedicate this song to Noel fucking Gallagher”.

Following his closing song, I am the Walrus, the frontman left the stage, but the screens continued to illuminate, soon revealing a cryptic message. “27.08.2024” followed by “8am”. The 11-second clip was then shared by both Liam and Noel Gallagher on social media, as well as the official Oasis social media accounts.

Just a couple hundred kilometres north in Manchester – famously the Gallagher’s hometown and epicentre of Britpop – a similar message was displayed. Manchester band Blossoms held a festival-like concert to celebrate the release of their new album with support from bands Inhaler, The K’s, and others. Following Blossoms set, the same date and time came on the screen.

Now, it has been confirmed that the brothers will reunite for the first time in more than a decade to deliver a string of stadium shows. Speaking on the news, the band said, the band said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised”
