BST Hyde Park Crowd Set for “Bald” World Record Attempt

Yes, you’ve read that headline correctly…
Organisers of BST Hyde Park have announced bold plans to attempt a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps during a headline set by Pitbull this summer.
The Miami-born singer and producer, widely known to fans as Mr Worldwide, is due to top the bill at the central London event on Friday 10 July as part of its 2026 programme. The show was first revealed in October, with Kesha confirmed as a special guest. Additional names are expected to join the line-up in the coming months.
Festival organisers say the official title attempt, overseen by Guinness World Records, will take place on the night of Pitbull’s performance. The initiative aims to secure the record for the largest number of attendees wearing bald caps simultaneously, tapping into a fan-led trend that has gained traction at the artist’s concerts over the past year.
Supporters have increasingly arrived dressed in tribute to Pitbull’s trademark look, donning shaved-head disguises, sunglasses and leather jackets. The community, which has dubbed itself “The Bald E’s”, has spread widely on social media and caught the attention of broadcasters, including BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James, who first floated the record-breaking idea on air. According to organisers, the suggestion quickly reached Pitbull himself following a BBC Radio 1 podcast episode recording, who later replied, signalling his enthusiasm for taking part.
In a statement, the performer encouraged fans to join in. “Get ready for all the Bald-E’s that’ll be putting it down on 10 July at Hyde Park,” he said, adding that the gesture reflected appreciation for the audience’s support. “Every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives.”
Darcey Jackson, Director of Talent at AEG Presents European Gestivals, said the attempt would build on a history of unusual spectacles at the concert series. “We’ve broken a few world records in the past, but this will truly be the time of our lives. We cannot wait to welcome you all to Hyde Park for what will inevitably be an incredible show. Come one, come all, come bald.”
Will Munford, an adjudicator for Guinness World Records, confirmed officials would be present to verify the attempt. “We look forward to adjudicating this record at BST Hyde Park with Pitbull. What better way to be part of something amazing than coming together with other fans to celebrate your favourite artist? Best of luck to all of those taking part on the day!”
BST Hyde Park has become a staple of London’s summer calendar, blending blockbuster pop bookings with one-off moments designed to generate buzz beyond the stage. Whether thousands of lookalike fans can transform the park into a sea of bald caps remains to be seen, but organisers appear confident the idea will draw a crowd keen to play their part.
