The O2 has capped off another colossal year, sharing new attendance records that enforce its status as the world’s most popular live entertainment venue.

Owned and operated by AEG, the London arena hosted 239 arena performances in 2025, marking a 19 percent rise on last year and continuing a run of consecutive record-breaking years. Ticket sales climbed too, with more than 2.9 million fans passing through its doors, an 11.5 percent increase on 2024.

According to the venue, the surge reflects not only the ongoing boom in the UK’s live sector but also sustained investment in live event technology, premium ticketing experiences and an increasingly ambitious programme that spans music, sport, comedy and entertainment.

This year’s calendar has been defined by scale and variety. Alongside established global superstars and homegrown names, The O2 welcomed a new wave of debut arena acts, driven by the global reach of streaming and social platforms. In total, 55 artists performed at the venue for the first time in 2025, a 34 percent increase year on year. Performers from China, Singapore, Japan and Turkey appeared at the arena for the first time, while artists including Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae, Pitbull and Tyler, the Creator all pulled off multiple sold-out shows during their debut runs.

Steve Sayer, Senior Vice President and General Manager of The O2, described 2025 as “an extraordinary year”, calling it the venue’s third consecutive year of record-breaking success.

“Welcoming more events and more fans than ever before is a powerful reflection of both the continued strength of the live entertainment sector and the relentless dedication of our team,” he said. “Our programme has been ambitious, diverse and truly global, while The O2 continues to set the standard for innovation, fan experience and sustainability.”

Recent months have also delivered some landmark moments. The venue completed its transition to 100 percent green energy and hosted a UK-exclusive, four-night run from Radiohead that rewrote the arena’s history books. The band surpassed The O2’s previous attendance record every night, peaking at 22,355 fans.

Elsewhere, The O2 announced a new three-year partnership with Music Venue Trust, aimed at supporting the UK’s grassroots music ecosystem and strengthening the pipeline between emerging spaces and arena stages.

On a global scale, The O2 has once again topped Billboard’s charts for total attendance and number of shows, while ranking second worldwide for total gross. It remains the only UK venue to feature in the world’s top 20 arenas, a position it looks set to defend as it heads into 2026.
