FAKE SUEDE Is Making Soulful Waves with Latest Single, Love Don’t Come Easy

With an already established fanbase built around his own music, LA-based artist Jeffrey James is venturing into new creative territory with his latest project, FAKE SUEDE.

James is a certified singer-songwriter in his own right, known for his undeniable ability to seamlessly blend genres and create art with meaningful and introspective lyrics. His work has earned him millions of streams and high-profile features in TV and commercials alike. Now, he’s embracing a fresh perspective, introducing a narrative-driven project built around a heart-shaped character named Quint, who serves as a guide through the visual and musical world of FAKE SUEDE.

FAKE SUEDE’s latest release, Love Don’t Come Easy, follows on from Don’t Mind If I Do, and Celebrate (Night with Me), and blends James’ heartfelt vocals with musical influences from a variety of genres. The gently grooving bass that opens the track evokes 1970s nostalgia, while the melodic guitars would feel at home on a modern indie rock record. Delicate synth touches and layered vocals echo through the chorus, creating an immersive and uplifting sound.

This vibe is carried through the entire project so far. A soundscape that seamlessly blends modern and retro elements, creating songs that you will find yourself humming along to with a smile.

Speaking about this new project, James says the inspiration came from ‘trying to get out of my own way creatively and escape my own preconceived notions of what I thought music needed to sound like’. Releasing music under a new name allows James to embrace greater creative freedom, exploring fresh ideas while staying true to his essence.

At its core, Love Don’t Come Easy serves as a gentle reminder that life’s most meaningful experiences – like love – require patience and effort. Though through a little optimism and patience, the journey will always be worth it.
