Florence + the Machine Announce Halloween Release for New Album, Everybody Scream

Florence + the Machine have confirmed details of their next album, Everybody Scream, which will arrive on 31 October.
The announcement was made on the band’s social media channels on Monday, accompanied by the album’s artwork and a short caption: “Florence and the Machine, Everybody Scream, The new album, This Halloween.” The cover image shows frontwoman Florence Welch peering into a fisheye lens while seated against wooden walls, dressed in black and white.
Pre-orders have opened on the band’s official site, with multiple formats on offer. Alongside standard vinyl, CD and cassette editions of the 12-track release, fans will be able to buy special “Chamber Versions” of the vinyl and CD, which include four bonus songs and an alternate cover.
A limited “Bloodwood Edition” cassette will feature exclusive artwork, with a variety of other bundles also available.
Speculation about new music has circulated since July, when Welch shared a series of cryptic posts. One image showed a whiteboard with the words “You can have it all” and a list including “clarity, power, purpose, vocals, space, dynamics and beauty”.
Another referenced “Swans vs Adele” in block capitals, while a separate photo depicted Welch in a writing session with IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen, who has since dropped further hints online about his involvement in the project.
Welch also teased the Halloween release by alluding to “witchcraft, folk horror, mysticism, magic, poetry [and] insanity” in the same post, alongside a copy of philosopher Simon Critchley’s 2024 book On Mysticism.
Everybody Scream will be the band’s sixth studio album and their first since 2022’s Dance Fever. It follows a year of retrospection: in July, Florence + the Machine marked the 10th anniversary of their third album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, while last summer they performed a one-off orchestral concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms.
Everybody Scream is due for release on 31 October 2025.
