Website Contributor
At That Fangirl Life, we’re all about embracing the true fangirl inside you! Whether you love One Direction, The 1975, or the latest Netflix series, there’s something on our platforms for you to connect with. Since late 2020, we’ve been bringing content to the online fan space through our podcast and social channels, and since 2021, this site has been our home for all things word!
We’re now looking to take on more contributors as we increase the volume of content we share on the site. From day one, all content on the site has been written by fans, for fans, and now, we’re looking for more contributors who are well-immersed in their fandom and keen to share their words of wisdom with others.
Regular content will include reviews, listicles, and essay-styled pieces about everything to do with fandoms and fan culture, but we’re always open to any suggestions you may have too! There may also be occasional opportunities to interview your favourite artists, stakeholders and industry professionals as you progress on your writing journey with us.
What we can offer you is:
- A place to practice your skills and receive useful, constructive feedback
- A network of new friends who have similar passions and interests to you
- References for future employers when the time does come to fly the TFGL nest
- A platform for you to start on your journalist journey – please don’t forget about us when you’re writing for the likes of NME!
We understand that everyone leads busy lives. However, we will expect one contribution minimum from you each month.
Please nore that this role is voluntary and therefore, unpaid—everyone who contributes to the site, whether as a writer or editor does so for free.

02. we’ll be in touch if we wish to progress your application
Should we require more information, we’ll be in touch on the email address you provide. We’ll strive to respond to everyone who applies, but please do be patient – we are a small team! We aim to respond to all queries within five working days.
03. Keep an eye on our jobs board for any future roles
Should you not be successful in your application, we’d encourage you to keep an eye on our jobs board and social channels. We can’t take on everyone who applied (as much as we’d love to!) but we’d welcome you to reapply in the future.
