Best Live Concert

About the award:

Touring is one of the most loved aspects of being a fan. Whether you go to one show or twenty shows, you’re guaranteed a magical evening surrounded by others who have the same interests as you, seeing some of your favourite artists. And 2023 has delivered some incredible live performances.

The Nominees:

The Eras Tour (Taylor Swift)

The Eras Tour is the ongoing sixth concert tour by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who described it as a journey through all of her musical eras. A homage to her albums, the Eras Tour is her most expansive tour yet, with 151 shows across five continents. As of August 2023, it is the highest-grossing tour ever by a woman and second highest-grossing overall based on the first 56 North American shows alone.

Announced after the release of her tenth studio album, Midnights, the Eras Tour is Swift’s second all-stadium tour after the 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour. The show received rave reviews from critics, who emphasized its concept, production, aesthetics and immersive ambience, as well as Swift’s musicianship, stage presence and versatility.

Music of The Spheres (Coldplay)

Announced in October 2021 in support of their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres, and marked a return to live performing after the COVID-19 pandemic. The band had not toured for their previous record, Everyday Life, putting shows on hold until they could devise an environmentally friendly approach.

According to a plan they developed for over two years, CO2 emissions are meant to be reduced by 50% in comparison to A Head Full of Dreams Tour (2016–17), and the band have partnered with numerous brands to achieve this.

At Their Very Best (The 1975)

At Their Very Best is the fourth concert tour by British indie/pop band The 1975 in support of their fifth studio album Being Funny in a Foreign Language. It has a total of seven legs with 93 cumulative shows across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

Written and directed by frontman Matty Healy, the show received unanimous critical acclaim, with praise on the concept, production, boundary-pushing staging, and Healy’s performance. Rolling Stone declared it as “a defining blueprint on how to do arena shows” and “the most impressive live show” of 2022, and shows have continued through 2023 and into 2024 with their Still… At Their Very Best continuation.

Love on Tour (Harry Styles)

Harry Styles embarked on Love On Tour to support his second studio album, Fine Line – but little did fans know that it would be a string of shows that would last for three years and deliver an infinite of memories.

Love On Tour was the must-attend event in the fangirl calendar this year. With feather boas and sequin tops bringing a sight to behold in cities around the world, the Love On Tour experience was unlike any other. His final Love On Tour show in Reggio Emilia, Italy was thought to be attended by over 100,000 fans – the largest crowd Styles has performed to to-date.

The 5SOS Show (5 Seconds of Summer)

The Australian foursome headed out on their heavily-anticipated The 5SOS Show tour earlier this year, touching base in countless states across the US, South America and Europe.

Across 40 shows, the group played greatest hits including She Looks So Perfect, Youngblood and Amnesia, amongst newer tracks from their 2022 album, Calm.

We even reviewed one of the shows from the 5SOS Show Tour. Catch up on the action here.

And the winner is…
