The Party’s Just Beginning: PARTYOF2’s Debut Tour 

PARTYOF2, an undeniable musical duo made up of Jadagrace and SWIM, dropped their debut album in October and kicked off their first tour, AMERIKA’S NEXT TOP PARTY!, on 29 November.

I had the chance to check out their December 1st show in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the Neighborhood Theatre. 

As fans filled the venue, the night kicked off with DJ SOUNDBWOY setting the tone, spinning tracks to get the crowd energised and primed for the upcoming performances. The energy in the room was contagious long before the duo even appeared. Fans arrived dressed in PARTYOF2-inspired outfits. Black and white fits with berets, ties, loafers and statement jewellery pieces. What stood out most was the diversity of the audience: longtime supporters who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with new fans who learned about them only weeks before the tour.  

Next up was Dejahtae, an up-and-coming rapper who warmed up the audience with a captivating set. Hailing from Oakland, California, AMERIKA’S NEXT TOP PARTY! is his first tour ever, but he does not show it. He came with high energy, tons of crowd interaction and even a surprise guest and frequent collaborator, Garret Sparrow. All the jumping and singing along led to the much-anticipated arrival of PARTYOF2.

Before they took the stage, we were introduced to the event’s theme through a unique pre-show experience. A robotic voice echoed through the room, welcoming us to the “party,” informing us that we were about to undergo an initiation test to prove our readiness for the night ahead. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the crowd eagerly awaited what was to come, and the room filled with the chant “P-O-T! P-O-T!”

PARTYOF2 came out with a bang. Before the concert began, fans were able to scan a QR code to vote on which song they would like the duo to open the show with. Charlotte voted for we owe you an explanation. 

The test was split up into five steps, each containing three to five songs, followed by a reflection of what was to come. Step one explored the past, highlighting songs from the former band they were part of, grouptherapy. The crowd sang these songs just as loud as the new ones, showing their loyalty. It was dope to see PARTYOF2 performing older music. Sometimes, when former members leave bands, the remaining members tend to stick to new music and focus on the new era. Jadagrace and SWIM acknowledging the past, rather than running from it, is super notable. 

Here, we heard a SWIM freestyle, while he word-played over some classic hip-hop hits from artists like The Notorious B.I.G. They also brought a “best-dressed” fan on stage and sent them home with some cool merchandise. We had made it to step five, the final stage. Sacrifices have been made, but in the end, was it all worth it? I feel like this section of the show left that up to the crowd’s discretion – a part of the story everyone was still writing. At the end of the night, the friendly robot voice spoke to us one last time, confirming that we had successfully passed our initiation test and we were officially members of the party! Each transition between steps felt intentional, giving the audience a moment to absorb the story while still maintaining the momentum of the performance. Lights dimmed, but the fans never did. The chanting returned, and we were ready for more. PARTYOF2 came back on stage to perform POSER as their encore track. 

Once the house lights came back on, the DJ announced that SWIM and Jadagrace *may* be hanging out by the merch table in five minutes. We all congregated towards the back of the venue, waiting patiently to get a glimpse and say hi to the people of the hour. They flashed smiles and listened to what each fan had to say. Someone next to me in line commented on their eye contact, saying that they seemed so interested and focused on each interaction.   

PARTYOF2 is just getting started. Their creativity and sonic flow are standout qualities in the industry right now. The duo blends and bends genres with remarkable ease, crafting a soundscape that feels both refreshingly modern and thoughtfully intentional. You can see they are inspired by artists who came before them, but put their own spin on everything they do – lyrically, visually and expressively. Throughout the night, the audience’s response served as a testament to the duo’s growing impact. Fans shouted the lyrics word-for-word. Their crowd interaction showed just how seamlessly PARTYOF2 can command a room.

On stage, SWIM and Jadagrace demonstrate an effortless chemistry built on trust, shared artistry, and a clear passion for performance. Their dynamic gives both high-energy moments and more intimate exchanges, inviting you into their world. Whether trading vocals or hyping each other up (and even hitting some dance breaks), their connection amplifies the tour experience.

What makes PARTYOF2 especially compelling is their ability to balance emotional depth with high-energy production. Their music resonates on multiple levels, while still delivering the kind of beats that fill a room and move a crowd. It is a rare combination, and one that positions them as an emerging force with the potential to influence the next wave of music. 

If their debut tour is any indication, PARTYOF2 is carving out a space that is entirely their own, and audiences are more than ready to follow wherever they go next.
