Spotify Launches Venue-Following Feature to Help Fans Discover Live Music

Spotify has rolled out a new feature that allows users to follow their favourite music venues, bringing live music discovery directly into the streaming app.

The update, available for both Free and Premium subscribers, features more than 20,000 venues worldwide, ranging from sold-out arenas hosting global superstars to small, independent clubs championing emerging talent.

The move builds on Spotify’s Concerts Near You feature, introduced in March, which helped users find and buy tickets for shows in their area based on their listening habits. Unlike the weekly updates of Concerts Near You, the new Live Events feed refreshes daily, highlighting upcoming concerts from intimate weekend gigs to major international tours.

Spotify’s venue-following feature merges users’ streaming preferences, location, and favourite genres into a personalised live music hub.

Fans can follow venues to save them in their Library, receive tailored suggestions for similar spots, and explore upcoming line-ups without leaving the app. Once a concert is selected, users can tap through to official ticketing partners to complete their purchase, with confirmations and event details stored directly in Spotify.

“Starting today, listeners can follow their favourite venues, discover new spots nearby, and explore upcoming line-ups, all without leaving the app,” Spotify said.

The Live Events feed has also been redesigned with smarter recommendations, making it easier for fans to spot the next unmissable gig or festival.

The feature is part of Spotify’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the link between streaming and live music. By surfacing concerts tailored to listeners’ tastes, it gives fans a seamless way to connect with both global acts and local talent. From iconic arenas in major cities to beloved neighbourhood clubs, Spotify aims to ensure that live music is accessible and discoverable wherever fans are.

For artists and venues, the feature could provide a new way to reach listeners who are already engaged with their music, bridging the gap between online streams and real-world performances. As the live music industry continues to recover and adapt, tools like Spotify’s venue-following feature may become essential in helping fans navigate a crowded calendar of concerts and festivals.

Whether discovering an up-and-coming indie act in a hidden basement club or securing tickets to a stadium tour, fans now have a daily-updated, personalized guide to live music in their pocket.
