10 Must-See Concerts to Add to Your 2024 Calendar
Clear your calendars, it’s time to line up your concerts for the New Year! Just when you thought you started saving money again, the universe says, SIKE! It seems like every year, concert season begins earlier and earlier. 2024 is no exception. Some of the biggest names in music are heading out on world tours in the New Year, and here are ten that you should seriously consider breaking the bank for.
Mitch Rowland
When Mitch announced this past summer that he was bringing out his first record, everyone was so excited. Having written with Harry Styles on his records, there was no doubt that his own record was going to be incredible.
So when his debut album Come June dropped on October 6, we were all hoping that he was going to tour. Sure enough, four days after the release of his record, he announced his first-ever solo tour. As soon as tickets went on sale, fans made sure to grab their tickets so they wouldn’t miss out on his first tour. If his tour is anything like his sold-out album release gig at the Troubadour in LA, then we are in for an amazing tour.
Taylor Swift- The Eras Tour
There’s no denying that 2023 was the year of Taylor Swift. I mean with multiple shows on the 2023 leg of tour selling out in minutes to her Concert Film breaking records, it was hard to not go in social media and not see someone talking about her success this year.
With the response from the success of Eras Tour ’23, she decided to continue the fun and head out on another world tour in 2024. Next year she’s headed to Asia and Australia in addition to her shows across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe. Opening acts will include Gracie Abrams (US & Canada) and Sabrina Carpenter (Asia & Australia) and Paramore (Europe). An opening act for Japan has yet to be announced. If you didn’t get the chance to see her live this year, hurry and get your tickets for next year because you will not want to miss out!
Noah Kahan
If you don’t know who Noah Kahan is, you’ve been living under a rock this past year. The Grammy Nominated artist is heading out on a massive world tour starting in January 2024, and fans everywhere are excited. The Vermont native first broke the news of his first-ever arena tour back in September when he announced the North American leg starting in Vancouver in March 2024. The Dial Drunk singer will be going back out on tour on the heels of his previous sold-out tour for his album, Stick Season.
Niall Horan
Ever since his third album, The Show, was announced in February 2023, fans around the world have been begging for a tour. Fans have been waiting not only for new music but a new tour since the Flicker World Tour back in 2018. Two weeks before the release of The Show, the artist announced his first headline tour in 5 years with Live Nation, calling it “his biggest tour yet.”
The Citi AAdvantage presale went live May 30 with the artist presale and general sale quickly following suit. As of recently, the only opener that has been announced is Tommy Lefroy; an Indie Pop duo currently based out of London. Rumours have been circulating about who else will be opening for the Irish singer. Many include Daylight singer David Kushner, Lizzy Mcalpine, who he collaborated with on You Could Start a Cult, and even Gina Miles who won Season 23 of The Voice.
Olivia Rodrigo
Nearly a week after the release of her Sophomore album GUTS, Olivia announced her next world tour. This tour, which will start in Palm Springs, CA, will be the first time Rodrigo will perform in arenas. She is also set to perform at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 5 and 6 before heading overseas to Ireland to continue with her European shows. Olivia, who was just recently nominated for six Grammys including Album of The Year for GUTS, will begin her world tour in just two short months and it wouldn’t be a Bad Idea Right? to get tickets. It’s only Logical.
Jonas Brothers
If you were in middle school in the mid-2000s, you know how big of a deal it was when the JoBros returned in 2019. Now here we are four years and three world tours later, and Kevin, Joe and Nick are still causing chaos and melting girls’ hearts just as they did many years ago. Their recent ongoing tour, Five Albums. One Night., has been a blast from the past with performing hits including Year 3000, SOS, When You Look Me In The Eyes, Burning Up and many more chart-topping hits. In late July 2023, the brothers announced that they are continuing the nostalgia and heading out on tour once again in the New Year. Starting in February, they will be playing in Auckland, NZ, at the Spark Arena. If you can’t Hold On any longer, don’t Hesitate and buy your ticket!
Ed Sheeran
In support of his two most recent albums = and – , Ed Sheeran has been touring across the world singing songs from all his records, calling it The Mathematics Tour. Ed had first announced the tour back in September 2021 with the first show being in April of the following year. In October of this year, he announced dates for 2024 with shows in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. With artists such as Khalid and Maisie Peters as show openers in previous legs, he also announced that Calum Scott, who made his name on the show Britain’s Got Talent back in 2015, would be opening on the new leg of the tour. If you want to take a trip down memory lane, then it’s your Perfect opportunity to buy a ticket and reminisce.
Bad Bunny
This tour comes after he took a little break from the stage. Bunny made the announcement back in October 2023. The Monaco singer also said that he wants to make this tour a bit more intimate for his fans. In doing so, he had fans register for tickets to ensure that only his “real fans” get to attend his shows. According to Live Nation, it’s expected to be “the most sought-after concert event of the year.” Tickets are currently available through Ticketmaster and the tour will kickoff in Salt Lake City on February 21.
U2
U2 are set to finish off their residency at The Sphere which opened September 29 of this year. This tour is the first at this venue with its focus on their 1991 album, Achtung Baby. Opening for the Irish band is none other than recording artist and drummer, Pauli Lovejoy. Lovejoy joined Harry Styles’ band back in 2021 as his Music Director for Love On Tour ’21-’23. Tickets are available and if you want to experience an out-of-this-world show. Judging by videos and pictures, it’s an experience you won’t forget.
Green Day
It was only a month ago that the pop-punk band announced their fourteenth world tour in celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of their album, Dookiem and the twentieth anniversary of American Idiot. The tour, in correlation with their recent album, Saviors, is going to have support from other iconic rock bands Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, The Linda Lindas with etc..
Those of us who grew up with the album American Idiot, are going to be transported back to a time of black cargo pants, Converse high-tops, band tees and thick black eyeliner. We can only expect hits such as The title track American Idiot, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and Holiday to be on the setlist along with other cult classics. Tickets went on sale November 10 and the tour kicks off in Spain on May 30.
These are only ten of the many artists that will be heading out on tours next year. It feels great to be back in full swing with live music. There’s nothing better than getting lost in a different world for two or three hours and forgetting about what’s going on in your real life. Now is your chance to fill up your calendar and have your slice of the magic.
