Taylor Swift Breaks UK Chart Record with 13th No. 1 Album

Taylor Swift has officially made history, surpassing Madonna to become the female artist with the most No. 1 albums in the UK.
Her latest release, Lover (Live From Paris), has claimed the top spot, marking her 13th chart-topping album.
With this achievement, Swift now ties with Elvis Presley as the international artist with the most No. 1 albums in the UK. The only acts ahead of her are The Rolling Stones (14), and both Robbie Williams and The Beatles, who jointly hold the record with 15.
Lover (Live From Paris) features live performances from the 2019 studio album, Lover. Originally released in limited quantities for Valentine’s Day in 2023, the album initially peaked at No. 90 on the UK charts. However, a newly released heart-shaped double vinyl edition has propelled it to No. 1, selling an impressive 47,000 copies – the biggest opening sales week for an album in 2025 so far.
Notably, the album has never been released in full on streaming services, with only individual tracks available. In fact, the last artist to do so was Swift herself, when her 2017 album, Reputation, debuted at the number one spot before being made available on streaming platforms weeks later.
Speaking on the success of Taylor’s latest release, Martin Talbot, Chief Executive Officer of Official Charts said, “If we thought Taylor Swift would peak in 2024 with her domination of the charts during the summer, we couldn’t have been more wrong. What an amazing achievement to surpass the Albums Chart record of Madonna, such a huge music icon.”
