Last night I saw my personal favorite from One Direction, Louis Tomlinson at The Chicago Theater. Let me tell you, I’ve had these tickets for over 2 years and it was definitely worth the wait. I was in the first row behind the pit and I could not believe how close I actually was to my favorite member of a band I have been a fan of since their first single in 2011.
I first off want to mention the opening band for Louis, Sun Room. They were amazing and their music is very much summertime, windows down in the car with your friends vibe and I love it. They were so excited and are genuinely grateful to be on tour with Louis. Louis made a fantastic choice on choosing them to open for him. Go check them out!
Every single fan at the show was so kind, fun and the vibes of the concert were pure happiness. Fans handed out pride flags, yellow flowers, and other fan projects. Everyone was chanting Louis’ name beforehand and screaming so loud when the smiley face banner dropped. The sea of pride flags during Only the Brave was extraordinary.
As for Louis, his performance and the entire show was incredible. I honestly have no words to describe how it felt. His singing was absolutely beautiful and his confidence in himself and his voice has never been higher. Seeing his confidence grow throughout the years is truly something I will never forget. Anytime any of the boys sing a One Direction song my heart grows bigger. Louis singing three made my heart explode with happiness (Through the Dark was probably my favorite). It always brings back memories from before their hiatus. Also, Copy of a Copy of a Copy is an amazing song and I hope Louis releases it in LT2.
The interactions with the fans were adorable and you can tell just how much he loves and adores his fans. He took a selfie with a fan, took a shot with another, acknowledged so many fans throughout the show, and waved goodbye to the fans from out of his tour bus window when leaving the venue. Even though I am sad he didn’t have Perfect Now on the setlist, I don’t think the show could have gone any better.
If you are seeing Louis soon or waiting for him to come to your country after all that has happened the past 2-3 years, I promise it is worth the wait. And if you have not listened to his music before, what are you waiting for?!
Thank you, fellow fangirl!
