For any fangirl going to a club night where it’s just exclusively your faves being played all night is like a dream come true and on 18th September, Bring It All Back Events, finally got to go ahead with the third time rescheduled One Direction Club night at London’s Scala.
From getting off the tube at Kings Cross wearing my Midnight Memories t-shirt, there was a buzz in the air as we made our way to the venue. Fellow Directioners all looking at each other knowing where each other was heading, like it was a secret speakeasy. With the sounds of one of the over 100 tracks, One Direction has in their catalogue of songs, playing as we entered (first stop was the toilets of course) there was a buzz in the air that could only be compared to actually attending a One Direction show.
I had brought my trusty Harry Styles-inspired red heart sunglasses to hopefully get as many people as I could to wear them and pose for a photo. Initially, I was a bit wary in regards to this, would people be rude or just look at me like I was strange. However, like you would expect from any Directioner you meet, everyone was up for taking part as well as being extremely friendly. It was like catching up with all you’re old friends you haven’t seen in years & in some ways, it was for some attendees. Due to the rise of 1D TikTok-ers, some that were in attendance; people who had only ever spoken online got to hang out together for the first time in a safe space.
What you’re all probably here for though is a moment that I never will forget, despite the number of tequila shots I had already consumed at that point. I have seen in full that music video we’ve all been told never got finished; yes the Infinity music video. Whilst standing at the bar waiting to order another drink, a girl came and asked my friend and I what we thought had happened to the mysterious video we’ve only ever seen snippets of. I was adamant that the video just got binned in favour of History, however next thing I know I’m being led out of the bar area and shown a photo on her phone of One Direction I’ve never seen before; which was then followed by us watching the full music video. Whilst people have their doubts if the video is real, if this is a fan edit I have no idea how this girl has managed to pull off making something of this calibre. You can find out more about what is the actual video by watching my TikTok below.
Moving on from that, what I will say is that everyone needs to experience attending a club night for One Direction, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, whoever you’re a fangirl for in their life because it was so freeing and just the best way to spend a Saturday night. We won’t mention the awful tribute act that was the big surprise.
